Description
Paper Mache dragon mask (I really am in a rut with painting my dragons blue) made for Halloween 2005.
I started with a store-bought blank plastic mask and sculpted on a snout shape with modeling clay. I then covered this with several layers of paper mache (using white glue rather than flour like many people use). When dry, I pried the mache off of the shape-form. I painted it with acrylic paints, giving it sort of a cheetah-like facial design, and added little polymer clay teeth. The veil is made from purple/green dichroic fabric and beaded ribbons. Lastly, I added a couple sheer blue ribbons for straps.
